STEMFILL® uses your own blood to naturally fill skin depressions, acne scars, wrinkles and folds, rather than using synthetic, plastic, or animal-derived materials.  This patented system involves the extraction of Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP Injections, from a small measure of the patient’s own blood. Platelets are known to trigger cell growth and as such have a regenerative effect on the skin. The extracted platelet rich material is then re-injected into the treatment area to add volume and fullness. Stemfill is particularly suited to re-texturing the skin and smoothing out surface lines on the cheeks, around the mouth (“smoker’s lines”) and eyes.

During the procedure, Dr. Born will collect a small amount of blood and then place it in a centrifuge machine. This process extracts the PRP which is then injected in the area to be treated. Dr. Born will determine the number of treatments needed for optimal results. The length of the procedure can run anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of areas treated.

You may experience some common reactions to the needles such as mild irritation, edema, bruising, swelling, itching, discoloration or tenderness at the injection site. These temporary conditions typically resolve themselves within a few days.
