Breast Micro-Fat Grafting

Micro fat grafting or fat transfer can be used to augment the shape, size and suppleness of breasts and can be performed as a standalone procedure, or in combination with breast augmentation and Mastopexy surgery. The procedure involves the harvesting of fat from unwanted areas such as the abdomen, inner thighs or buttocks. This harvested fat is then processed and transplanted to the desired area to achieve a natural fullness and softness. Dr. Born will often employ fat transfer in order to soften the breast contour, to fill out and improve the intra-mammary cleft (cleavage), and also to help achieve the most natural look and feel to the breasts as possible. For example, fat grafting can be used to fill out and shape the upper pole of the breasts, and also to flesh out a hollow or “bony” looking décolletage. If you are looking for a more natural alternative to breast implants surgery, or if you desire a more voluptuous and soft breast contour, then micro fat grafting may be an option for you. During your consultation, Dr. Born can discuss this option and work with you to ensure a treatment plan that is uniquely suited to meet your cosmetic goals.

Q & A

What Is Breast Micro Fat Grafting?

Micro fat grafting, or fat transfer surgery can be used to contour, shape and plump the breasts, as well as other depressed or deflated areas on the body and face. Dr. Born has perfected this technique and can perform this procedure alone or in conjunction with other procedures including breast augmentation surgery, breast liftsurgery, Brazilian Butt lift and facial surgery. Micro fat transfer to the breasts is performed under general anaesthetic and can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on the amount of fat to be transferred and the complexity of the particular case. During the procedure, fat is taken from a donor site using a liposuction cannula (a thin, tube like syringe) and is then prepared for re-injection into the recipient site. Because you are using your body’s own natural material to add volume back to the breasts, there is no chance of rejection or allergic reaction.
